Sela Ward has a very distinctive look, natural beauty. Her gorgeous looks, and no doubt her acting ability have resulted in her being the recipient of a Golden Globe Award in 2001. The actress had been nominated several times previously. She has also won 2 Emmy’s. Born in 1956 Sela was acting as far back as 1984 appearing in the television series “Emerald Point N.A.S. She has also appeared in “Hotel,” “I Had Three Wives” and “L.A. Law”. Perhaps she is best known for her roles in the television series “Once and Again,” Desperate Housewives” and “Sisters.” She has appeared in a number of movies as well, but one of her more current roles was as a detective in the CSI: NY series.
A Cheerleader in Disguise
Sela has been in the spotlight for years. Even before she started acting she was a cheerleader for the University of Alabama Crimson Tide football team, and Homecoming Queen. Natural beauty and talent likely landed her these roles. After that, she got her start in acting and television through modeling and appearing in commercials.

As an actress and director, Sela has taken to social media to her own Facebook page. She has become a published author having recently written a book called “Home Sick.” The book focuses lessons learned regarding being genuine, belonging and caring; things she learned growing up in Meridian Mississippi. In January 2011, Emmy winner writer/director/producer Ken Levine posted on his blog that he found Sela’s looks shocking. He had no doubts that she had plastic surgery done. Sela has admitted to Botox injections but not plastic surgery. Cosmetic reconstruction was done with Botox generally provides only a temporary fix. The treatment helps remove wrinkles, like those laugh lines that generally appear around people’s eyes. According to an undated document, Sela admitted to minor plastic surgery, though she did not specify where. She also reportedly stated if and when she ever got the courage she would likely have more surgery done.
The jury is still out on this one but perhaps one day, when she finds the courage, Sela will open up to her fans regarding her true nature.
